India stepping in Search with ” Bhuwan “

India launched a service named Bhuwan.  It is a Geo portal by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization). Bhuvan is an ambitious project of ISRO to take thematic information in multiple spatial resolutions to people through a web portal through easy access to information on basic natural resources in the geospatial domain. It looks similar to Google Earth facility.  Bhuvan brings a whole lot of uniqueness in understanding our own natural resources whilst presenting beautiful images and thematic vectors generated from varieties of geospatial information.

Be Aware of Malware

Today Web Developers are being targeted by a nasty infection called malware. When somone visits a infected page, the page installs a infection on their machine that silently copies the passwords stored in ftp clients like coreftp, CuteFTP,  filezilla and possibly other File Transfer Protocol client software. After copying that information this virus sends it to a remote host, and then this host is authorized to access the site the credentials of which has been stolen.

After the infection some sites are crashed and some continue to operate but again they continue this process of information collecting. The way this infection is spreading is somewhat interesting.

“Twitter is one of the junction where you can get infected with tiny urls”

How This Malware affect SEO

If a infected website is running on the web, it’s search traffic will plummet. As the search engines are aware of this attack and are fighting with it from several years.  For example Google may label “This site may harm your computer” if your site is infected.

Within one and a half year Google have investigated billions of URLs and found more than three million unique URLs on over 180,000 web sites automatically installing Malware.

iframe-resultsGoogle reported that malware infected pages had increased to more than 1% of all search results. Check out this report of Google for further information about it.

Google has observed that the majority of malware was hosted on web servers located in China.
